faces, faces, faces

Phase III Additional Personal Submissions: Due March 19th. The only thing standing between me and LA.

Some of my favourites from APS shoots...

Love this kid. I'm 100% convinced that any and all photos of Jon turn out well. Thanks to him for a fun shoot (even though he was really sleepy the whole time =).

Kelly has a ridiculously extensive repertoire of facial expressions... a crappy.rainy afternoon well spent in the portrait studio.

It was tough to decide between these last two shots. I finally chose the latter, I think his facial expression says it all.

More to come...

Phase III Final

At long last...

Phase III Mandatories were turned in last Monday (there was a whole lot of celebration afterward). Here are my final shots...

[PR]

Molly was a ton of fun to work with. She was very patient while I shot the PR photo...

[Alternate]

Then we got to have some fun.

[Family In Home]

Beacon, NY. Shot this in about 5 takes, Tyler got pretty restless. They did great, though.

[Environmental Portrait]

Drove out to NYC with Espo for this one. Fun day trip... got to sit in on this guy's comedy on demand show in the Sirius radio tower. A bit surreal...

[High Key Female]

Hopefully my model here isn't that recognizable... this is probably my favourite of my portfolio shots.

[Low Key Male]

Found this guy on MM, got pretty lucky, we shot in about 20 minutes, he was good to work with. Simple, but I like it.

[Executive Portrait]

Beacon, NY! Thanks to Miranda's hookups, here.

[Child Portrait]

This kid was awesome. "Okay, Nate, I want you to lean in reaaalllly close at look at my camera, ok?" This is what I got. =)

[Outdoor Portrait]

Beacon, NY. It was FREEZING cold out, I lost feeling in my hands about 2 minutes into the shoot. Had to Photoshop the life out of the reflection here, but it seems to work.

[Product Sheet]

Vans. Need I say more?

[Reflective Metal]

The shiny... is hard to light.

[Glassware]

Simple. I had about 5 other choices (I re-shot glass about 4 times), decided on this one in the end.

This shot was a ton of fun to do. The type/product could use some work, but what can you do?

[Architectural Interior]

Northampton, MA. Thanks to the Hotel Northampton for this one. They were super helpful, even let Miranda and I go upstairs/into the rooms to shoot.

[Still Life]

Shot this one pretty fast, but I'm happy with how it came out. The colour still bothers me, for some reason, but I couldn't get it to where I was 100% happy. I suppose 95% will have to do (for now).

Fin.
