pop, lock & drop it

Last night, after a week and a half of (almost) complete shut down.burn out, I started shooting again.

Simple drop and pop of Axe deodorant spray. I spent most of the evening fighting with the large format camera (no, Hallmark I didn't break anything), some keystoning, and lining up the product correctly, but I finally got a couple decent shots.

Now for the fun part. The photo I'm going to drop it on top of...

...is soon to come.

We had another Heisler class today, working with two soft boxes and a umbrella fill.

Tonight: more commercial studio... Absolut Ruby Red vodka time!

softboxes, light kits, shower curtains, etc

I've been shooting a fair amount of portraiture lately (go figure). I rented out a softbox and a one head light kit this weekend, and had some fun shooting with Miranda.

Some of my favourite shots...

[love her eyes in this shot]

[oh, scandal]

This morning, my section practiced with Heisler's one light/shower curtain setup.

[the discovery of how to manually create sepia tone without a preset = highlight of my week]

That's all for now, folks. More to come (soon enough).

Catch Up

Some recent work...

Did a photo shoot with the illustrious Ms. McHenry over Christmas break, came up with some cool shots.

[Reliving a particularly entertaining moment from last year at school.]

[Greg Heisler's $100 Home Depot lighting. Fun stuff.]

[One word: yum. Commercial studio just before Christmas break. The first commercial shot I've actually been satisfied with.]

[This salsa was really tasty. Garnish? Yes, its grass. Yes, I went out and dug through the snow for grass that was actually still green.]

Portrait Studio tomorrow. I'm pretty excited, seeing as I have a pretty solid idea of what I want to shoot. Plus, I get to model as a covergirl for seventeen magazine. Can you say WOOHOO! [?]
